Exercise physiologists analyse their patients’ fitness in order to help them improve their health or maintain good health. They help patients with heart disease and other chronic conditions, like diabetes or pulmonary (lung) disease, to regain their health.

I was having trouble with my balance and falling off ladders, tripping over raised concrete edges after having a couple of minor strokes. My doctor recommended I go to see Brian for Exercise Physiology at Westcare Health and Fitness. I attend on a couple of days through the week and see both Brian and Peter. Since seeing Brian and Peter, I have regained my balance and am able to stand on one leg and hold a squat without requiring assistance.

I have found Brian and Peter to be very knowledgeable, friendly and good at what they do. Being a returned veteran, I have used a couple of other facilities but didn’t see the results that I have achieved while under Brian and Peter’s care.

I came to visit YOU, an EP because I had problems walking and weight bearing on my right knee. I was taking pain relief and anti inflammatory tablets daily, using creams and patches as my knee was was so painful.

I started in July and its now November. So 4 months later, I am not taking any pain relief medications, using no patches, nor creams or anti inflammatory meds. I am much stronger now and starting to see results in other parts of my body as I attend the gym now twice a week. Its been amazing. Thank you so much Brian. I was so intimindated by going to a gym but the way you explained how to use the equipment and the educational video links you sent me have helped me understand pain and how exercise can help. I originally went to Westcare Health and Fitness on the recommendations from my doctor. My goal was to lose weight and improve my overall health. I originally had several concerns regarding getting into regular exercise given not worked out for many years. Brian's knowledge of fitness exercises, stretching and weight training put things in perspective and gave me a solid knowledge base to work from. Brian even offered some nutrition advice to help compliment my eating plan. His explanations were clear and could explain things in a technical and general way in order for you to understand it.

I have applied the exercises and found an improvement in my strength, energy levels and overall mobility and flexibility. I continue to lose weight as well. I am now confident to evolve my exercise regimes to a more intense level with confidence I will not injure myself.
